ugly bug ball(2) (new version)

This version although not quite as polished works for Internet Explorer 6.0 and as far as I can tell all the other browsers. Try this link as the alternative:
ugly bug ball(2)[alternative]***

explanation

The latest album ugly bug ball(2)*** appears to function with all the major browsers except versions of Internet Explorer 6. (The thumbnail pictures do not appear although the enlarged versions do appear when the thumbnails are hovered over or clicked.) Internet Explorer 7 does handle it, if you are prepared to upgrade. I am working to see if I can get it fixed for IE6. (It is about time IE got into the 21st Century)

It is my most ambitious attempt at a gallery and hopefully it will work for all browsers eventually. It is in an experimental stage but if successful it will form the basis for new galleries. Comments and suggestions welcome.

Gallery now includes a second row of tabs for the names of new galleries/albums. There are now four galleries with another gallery camp 2007 == under way

operation

recent galleries and albums

A mini-gallery picture(160px X 160px) is smaller than the size of the picture in the side column.: Recent galleries/albums are set up so that clicking the photos or captions in the mini-gallery/album producesthe enlarged version.

The enlarged version of each picture can be seen individually by clicking the link below it and returning. Alternatively, each gallery can be viewed in the enlarged versions in the round before returning. (Not quite snapfish but I am working on it) In the newer galleries small arrowheads at the top of the page form links for this purpose.

A separate section includes options for the big picture for selected photos; see below.

the big picture

In the more recent galleries, I have introduced the concept of `the big picture' whereby for selected photos with thumbnail sketches under the heading of `the big picture' you can scan around the detail of a very large version of the picture by clicking on the thumbnail. The idea of selecting these photos is that the background or different areas of the picture have an intrinsic interest. The bad news is that there is a download penalty because the file of such a photograph may be 3 Mega-bytes.
